Diana Krall
Rob Bennett was a proudly independent Canadian concert promoter based out of Toronto, renowned for his significant contributions to the music industry over a career spanning more than 35 years. Bennett's passion for music and promotion led him to work with a diverse array of artists across various genres. He began his career with "the Bernies"—Bernie Fiedler and Bernie Finkelstein—who owned True North Records and managed the iconic Riverboat in Yorkville. In 1978, Bennett established his own company, RBI Productions, and managed concerts at venues like Convocation Hall and Massey Hall in Toronto. Throughout his career, he promoted shows for artists such as James Taylor, Robin Williams, Diana Krall, Michael Bublé, and Bruce Springsteen.
It was during tours with Jesse Cook and Diana Krall at Kitchener’s Centre In The Square that I first met Rob and grew to appreciate the wearing of Crocs. They’re comfortable AND functional.
Diana Krall is a celebrated Canadian jazz pianist and vocalist renowned for her sultry voice, exceptional piano skills, and sophisticated interpretations of jazz standards. Born on November 16, 1964, in Nanaimo, British Columbia, she has built an illustrious career as one of the best-selling jazz artists of her time.
Diana Krall was born into a musical family. Her father, an amateur jazz pianist, and her mother, a choir singer, greatly influenced her passion for music. She began playing the piano at the age of four and later studied at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. After college, Krall moved to Los Angeles, where she honed her craft under the mentorship of jazz legends like Ray Brown and Jimmy Rowles.
Krall's breakthrough came with her 1996 album "All for You: A Dedication to the Nat King Cole Trio", which earned her a Grammy nomination and widespread acclaim. Her unique blend of vocal and instrumental jazz brought a fresh perspective to classic standards, attracting a broad audience.
Some of her notable albums include:
