Fortunate Ones

Fortunate Ones is a Canadian folk-pop duo from Newfoundland, consisting of Catherine Allan and Andrew O’Brien. They are known for their rich harmonies, heartfelt songwriting, and uplifting sound, blending folk, pop, and indie influences. Their debut album, The Bliss (2015), earned them a Juno Award nomination for Contemporary Roots Album of the Year and won multiple East Coast Music Awards (ECMAs). They followed up with Hold Fast (2018), which continued their success with emotionally resonant songs and polished production.

The duo has toured extensively across Canada and beyond, often collaborating with other East Coast artists like Alan Doyle (Great Big Sea) and The Once. Their music reflects themes of hope, resilience, and the beauty of their Newfoundland roots.

Fortunate Ones performed at Centre in the Square in Kitchener on October 17, 2018, as part of their tour supporting the album Hold Fast.

They also opened for Alan Doyle at the same venue on February 21, 2018.
